Clark County Jobs Website Sets a Higher Standard for Talent Attraction in Springfield
Clark County Jobs has launched a redesigned website that transforms how employers and job seekers connect in Springfield and Clark County. Unlike many communities that rely on a buried landing page or provide little more than a static job board, Clark County now offers a dedicated, fully functional platform that supports both workforce development and long-term economic growth.
“From the start, our goal was to create a platform that makes Clark County jobs easy to find, relevant, and worth staying local for,” said Andy Hayes, who led the development of the new site. “This site is an improvement and investment in the way our community attracts and retains talent.”
The previous site used an iframe pulled from the state’s system, which limited functionality and created a poor user experience. The new website now runs on a direct feed and API from Ohio Means Jobs. This new functionality allows:
Job searches are automatically filtered to Clark County
Filtering by industry and job type
Display of title, company, salary, and industry code
Our approach creates an accurate and localized experience for job seekers, ensuring employers gain visibility to talent committed to the region.
The new site introduces the ability for users to create profiles, save jobs, and store searches. These features help individuals track opportunities, return to saved searches, and build a personalized job profile directly on the platform.
“These upgrades give job seekers the tools they need to take control of their search without leaving the county website. It puts everything they need in one place,” said Horton Hobbs IV, Vice President of Economic Development.
Future plans include integrating YouScence for aptitude-based filtering to align opportunities with users’ skills and strengths, creating an even stronger match between local talent and employers.
One of the most distinctive features is the “cost of leaving” tool, an interactive calculator that estimates the financial and personal tradeoffs of commuting outside the county. The feature highlights gas, vehicle wear, lost time, and missed family commitments.
By illustrating these costs, the site reinforces the advantages of building a career within Clark County while helping employers compete for local talent more effectively.
The redesigned Clark County Jobs site strengthens the county’s workforce development strategy by:
Providing a single, easy-to-access hub for local jobs
Highlighting the benefits of working within the community
Supporting employers with greater visibility for their job openings
Demonstrating leadership that is forward-thinking and responsive to workforce needs
For Springfield and Clark County, the website is more than a digital upgrade. It is a measurable investment in talent attraction, retention, and community competitiveness.
