Internship opportunities are available for high school students in Clark County. The Greater Springfield Partnership is recruiting students for a local internship program that will provide students with access to in-depth review of their aptitudes using the YouScience assessment, resume and interview preparation, and employability skills training prior to interviewing for internships. This program will prepare students for internships and employment after high school. The internships that will be offered are an incredible opportunity for students to gain employment experience and for employers to connect with the future workforce. “Our goal is to create opportunities for young people to lead and to make an impact in Springfield and Clark County while creating a talent pipeline for the business community,” said Kendra Burnside, Talent and Education Coordinator for the Greater Springfield Partnership.

Kendra has visited five local high schools to present on internship opportunities. These include Northwestern, Southeastern, Springfield City, Global Impact Stem Academy, and Catholic Central. She is recruiting students for the internship program and has presented to over 300 students, with more presentations scheduled for January. “These events have gone very well. I have received several applications from students so far and hope to receive more.”

The application deadline for students is February 19 and students can apply by visiting clark county.jobs. Companies are able to submit their high school internship offerings here
