Today, after 130 years, Scarff’s Nursery is a family-owned wholesale nursery located in New Carlisle, Ohio. Presently growing B&B and container nursery stock on approximately 600 acres, we make available everything from evergreen shrubs to shade trees, ornamental trees and perennials. We are blessed with well drained, fertile soils and an abundant water supply to provide excellent growing conditions here in west central Ohio. Our winters can be cold and summers hot and dry, but our plants are hardy at least to USDA Zone 5. Our fondness for boxwood comes from Howard Scarff's selection and introduction of Wintergreen boxwood to the nursery trade during the 1940's. Wintergreen is probably the hardiest of all cultivated boxwood and blazed a trail for the hybridization and selection of many of the popular varieties in the industry today.
